In 2013, I accompanied one of my Swedish professors Dr. Helen Zhang on an acupuncturists tour of the Hospitals of Beijing. The trip was sponsored by the World Health Organization. For me, seeing how Eastern holistic medicine is combined with Western allopathic medicine was life-altering. Chinese Medicine is valuable not just because it is an ancient medicine vetted over thousands of years – it is still in the process of evolving. Acupuncture and herbal walk-in clinics are available in many hospitals and the government pays the bill.

In Beijing, I attended lectures and demonstrations on the various aspects of Chinese Medicine available in the hospitals.
